When it comes to flipping houses, investors should head to Pembroke Pines, a new report shows.

Pembroke Pines ranks No. 18 on a list of the nation’s best housing markets for flipping, according to WalletHub, a personal finance website. The analysis is based on a series of factors, including home prices, average remodeling costs and the stability of individual housing markets, WalletHub said.

County property search website wins national award

A website for searching property records operated by the Miami-Dade County Office of the Property Appraiser has won a national award.

The site allows users to search county property records online and works on desktop, tablet and mobile devices. It is the most-used page on the county’s site, according to property appraiser Pedro Garcia.

In Miami luxury market, single-family home resales outpace condos

A split emerged in Miami’s luxury real estate market during the first three months of 2015: Resales of single-family homes chugged along at a steady clip, but the market for existing luxury condos peaked as sales slowed and units stayed up for sale longer.

The number of luxury single-family homes sold grew 2.3 percent in the first quarter of 2015 compared to the same quarter last year. But luxury condo resales were down 3.6 percent over the same period.

Housing market hot as buyers spring into action

Homebuyers continued their spring stampede in May.

Broward County had its most prolific month for home sales in 11 years with 1,527 existing single-family closings, up 14 percent from a year ago, the Greater Fort Lauderdale Realtors said Monday.

The median price of $290,000 was 4 percent higher than in May 2014.

In Palm Beach County, 1,739 homes traded hands, a 6 percent increase from a year earlier, according to the Realtors Association of the Palm Beaches. There were only four fewer sales in May than April, which was the county’s best month since June 2004.

Auberge luxury condo project ahead of schedule

When developers first announced plans last year for the Auberge Beach Residences & Spa, they figured the luxury waterfront condominium in Fort Lauderdale had a chance to open in 2017, though 2018 seemed far more likely.

But 2017 now is the expected delivery date, the result of a better-than-anticipated early sales push for the 171 units ranging from $1.8 million to $8 million.

“We thought it would take longer to sell,” said Carlos Rosso, head of the condo division for The Related Group, which is building Auberge with Fortune International Group and the Fairwinds Group.
